The Strange-Looking 68-lb Fish Caught in Kentucky

Kentucky Angler Hauls In Ancient Fish After 50-Minute Battle

"I thought I had a giant striped bass, but I was ecstatic when I realized it was my first paddlefish," Key said. The American paddlefish is a species of ancient fish, and they have a very distinct look. They have long, paddle-shaped snouts and shark-like bodies. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources call the American paddlefish "one of Kentucky's most unique native species." Key's was 68 pounds and it took him roughly 50 minutes to reel it in. Here’s the full story.
